Good Things To Come

"Some blessings come soon, some come late and some don't come until Heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ- They come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come." Jeffery R. Holland

Family Field Trip Fun

So last Monday night we were off to Cabalas for our family fun night. We thought it would be fun for Ally to see the animals.... and yes, we know they are stuffed animals and don't judge us. It's too hot for the zoo and she's one.

Ally was excited to see the fish. She even said "fish" and "boat".
We liked the waterfall and Ally pointed out the bear at the top with no help!
Daddy didn't want to chase a curious monkey around the giant store, so Ally viewed most of the store in the shopping cart. But she was still wide eyed, happy and liked the deer especially.
We've wanted to get one of these for a long time, seeing how Ally is Jonathan's mini me and wants to be with him working on all his projects all the time. We tried it on in the store and if we had 150 bucks, Jonathan and Ally would so be rocking this right now.....
Ahhh the guns... the real reason Jonathan goes to Cabalas. He even told Ally which gun he was going to buy to scare off future boyfriends. Such a good dad.
Maybe by then, I'll be her favorite!

The Carousel ride

Such a good sport- way to go Dad!
Riding with Ally
Good Times
Family Home Evening activity last week was the carousel at the mall. Ally wanted Daddy to ride with her, of course. She tried riding on the horse, but wasn't 100% okay with that idea, so they sat together in the round seat. But that was fun, because it spun around too. So there was extra spinning. They rode twice. Ally had a good time. It was a nice treat.

She's my kid alright.....

So Ally has this lighthouse book. It's a story about helping others and letting your light shine. I've been reading it to her since she was born. It's one of her favorite books. So after reading it for the 10th time today, I asked for her to find things on the pages. This was our conversation tonight before bed.

Mom: Ally, can you find the boat? ( there is a boat on each page of the book)

Ally: No

Mom: Ally, can you find the boat?

Ally: No

Mom: Can you tell me where the boat is?

Ally takes the book from my hands puts it on the ground and starting at the beginning of the book turns to each page and with attitude says " There it is, There it is , There it is" until each boat on each page is pointed out in the entire book. Then she walks away.

I think I just got told off by a 20 month old.

And mom- no comments aloud!

Sweet!

Oh to be a kid again....

Some how I don't look as cute when I fall asleep in the car with chocolate covering my face... including my eyelids. No... I just look sad. Double standard. I'm not saying, I'm just saying!

True story alert:

We were having lunch with my friend Becky. And as an added treat, we had made cookies to take to surprise her. Becky still works at the bank, where I used to work, so we bring her presents to make up for the fact that she doesn't get to see me everyday. It's sad really. I'm her favorite person. Anyways, Ally wanted a cookie, so I handed one back- we were going to have to wait longer than I expected for Becky, so she needed a snack to keep the hunger screams at bay. So I tell her- don't get any chocolate on your clothes. No mess. and like a good little monkey, she complied. She only got chocolate on her face. Not her clothes. She is so good.

She didn't always look this good

She went from drab....
To Fab!!!

Mom of the year- right here. I'm that good.

The mouse

Mom: Ally do you want to place a computer game with Curious George.

Ally: Yes!

Mom: Okay we are playing Zoomazing. We have to use the arrow keys to move the animals to their homes. I will help you.

Ally: Mouse!

Mom: this game doesn't use the mouse. we have to use the arrow keys. point your finger and I will help you.

Ally: No! Mouse!

She takes the mouse and in 5 clicks manages to shut the whole computer down.

Then turns to look at me.

Ally: " No mouse"

Mom " That's right Ally, we shouldn't have used the mouse"

Family Home Evening

So Jonathan and Ally (mostly Jonathan) decided that they were tired of my usual family home evening lessons on Mondays and Jonathan declared that for July, every Monday we were to do a special family activity or outing.

July 5 was swimming in a new pool for our backyard.

Yes, the retard is still wearing his hat in the pool. Don't worry though, Ally steals it, dunks it in the water and throws it in the grass.
Flips and dips in the pool. Daddy's make pool time fun!
Ally was really excited. This is the first time for her to play in a pool. She's down waterparks and sprinklers, but not pools. She was so excited that she had her tongue hanging out the whole time. What a weirdo.
hmm... was the pool for Ally or for Jonathan.....

Note that I am not in the pool. I was informed by my loving husband that I would not fit with both of them in the pool. Way to make me feel good about myself dear! We would have all fit, he just wouldn't have been able to lie down. Anyways... next time I got and proved him wrong.

July 12

We had a picnic dinner in the living room, watched a Curious George movie (Ally's favorite) and then went the Braums for ice cream. We shared frozen yogurt.

For the 19th we have planned: a ride on the carousal in the mall and for the 26th we are swimming again. I'll update pictures as the rest of the dates come.

What to do on a Rainy Day

Last week we had a few rainy days, so Ally had to spend time inside- which meant we had to find new ways to get some of that toddler energy out.

We baked goodies for friends, missionaries and family. We have fun baking... just have issues with eating them! We give them away so we.. um... mommy... won't get fat... ok fatter.
She climbed.... on everything. The computer desk, the beds, the highest spot on the couch, the kitchen table...

And with the rain... it meant more time with daddy. I captured a particular fun tickle time on camera. Enjoy.

Motherhood

Jonathan sent this video to me. I thought I would share it in case other's haven't see in.
