Good Things To Come

"Some blessings come soon, some come late and some don't come until Heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ- They come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come." Jeffery R. Holland

Coming up!

I'm excited. Our 7th Wedding Anniversary is coming up on the the 3rd of August!! I guess this means we will survive the seven year itch. Although there was a whole article about how the new thing is the 3rd year glitch. Apparently couples are so crappy to each other now that they can't even get past the third year. How sad is that? So I guess if 3 is the new 7, would 11 be the new 7? Hmm... I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe I should be writing books to show all those young 3 year couples how to get through it..... you know cause we all model couple here. Joking aside, It's been real and it's been fun... and sometimes even really fun!

So......

We've been exchanging gifts according to the Traditional Wedding Anniversary. To recap the awesomeness that is us, here are the past themes:

1st Anniversary- Paper- we wrote each other letters. I know- how couple cute is that! We were still young and dumb. Plus he bought me a diamond and sapphire neckless and earring set that matched my wedding ring. Again... young and dumb and now poor- but awesome!!!! Oh and we always have an fab steak dinner.

2nd anniversary-Cotton- So we thought instead of mushy we would go funny. I got him socks and he got me a pirates of the Caribbean sleep shirt that said "surrender the booty" See.. we are the funniest people you know.

3rd anniversary- Leather- We went with something you can put things in. I got a new leather purse and he got a new leather toolbelt.

4th anniversary-Fruit or Flowers- we went literal and he got me flowers and we ate strawberry cheesecake.

5th anniversary-Wood- We got a wood pellet grill for our traditional steak dinner and cooked it ourselves.

6th anniversary- Candy- We picked out our favorite candies and had root beer floats.

7th anniversary is going to be Copper- tune in after the 3rd to see what we did for Copper!!! I'm excited for it!!!

Swim suit up

Showing off her new swimsuit, getting ready to go to Lake Powell with her Daddy, grandma and cousins.

She was quite proud of it and her beach towel. She wore the swimsuit for an hour. I was only trying to see if it fit, but the girl wants what the girl wants and I pick my battles. :)

Playdough Magic

a

We have 4 different colors, but of course she just wants to use the lavender color. She's really into pinks and purples right now.

I helped her make a bunny rabbit, she's showing it off. She added the finishing touches so of course it looks nothing like a bunny now. :)

So I'm a terrible mother and didn't get my girl any playdough to play with until she was 2 and 1/2. I know! Slacker!!! And I should have gotten it way before now, because it entertains hers for hours. Or for at least 1 hour and with how quickly she wants to jump from activity to activity- that is high attention marks for the playdough. Loves it!

4th of July Posts (3)

Watching the Parade.

Kissing her reflection in the mirror.

Getting ready for the Forth of July Parade or Party if you ask her. She's doing her "makeup"
It's just a makeup brush, no actual makeup

Her grandma sent her the cutest Navy dress. We thought it was perfect for today! She rocked the Navy at the Parade. Everyone thought she was the cutest!! And, Jonathan thought she looked way better in the Navy colors than he did! :)

Ally and Daddy getting ready for Fireworks

Watching the sun set

Ally helped Daddy drive out to the field to find the perfect Fireworks watching spot

We met up with Jonathan's uncle Randy and uncle Larry's families. We sat outside and watched the fireworks. It was actually cool, like 60's - Ally even needed a blanket- that was a first for us!! I didn't get a good shot of the fireworks, and everyone was yelling that I was blinding them with the camera, so I stopped taking pictures and took in the fireworks instead.
