Good Things To Come

"Some blessings come soon, some come late and some don't come until Heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ- They come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come." Jeffery R. Holland

The Chick and The Duck

Ally was given a duck matching game about a year ago, that we hadn't gotten out till now. She of course does not want to play the matching game but has adopted the 12 ducks from the game as her new family. All 12 ducks go in a plastic bag, which is then carried around all day and little ducks are carefully placed throughout the house by Ally. Then she will gather them and hid them all again.
This is one of her favorite places to hide the ducks. Most often at the end of the day
they all end up here and I replace them in the bag for the next day's adventures.

We are missing 2 of the ducks though.... she hid them so well I haven't been able to
find them. Anyone want to come over and go for a duck hunt?

Father's Day

Jonathan is such a good dad! As he will not blog about his day, I will! Ally picked out a singing card for him that said he was "king of the jungle" and it played the song "in the jungle" and she danced along with it. She colored him an "I love my daddy" coloring page. He had french toast for breakfast and will get a grilled steak tonight. He also got some new cargo shorts to wear.

I asked Ally what she loved most about her daddy and she ran to the front door and said "side" which stands for outside. And it's true, Jonathan is always ready to take her outside to play, whether it be on the riding lawn mower, taking a walk in the stroller, or playing in the sprinkler. He even takes her outside to play in this horrible heat- not for long of course- don't want them to die!

I'm glad that she loves her daddy so much and I'm glad that he is a good one. Love ya, Jonathan!

Cousins

What?? I didn't just eat a cookie... what are you talking about? You've got cookie on your neck!
Yea!!!! Eating cookies and playing in the sprinkler.
Hey! Where did your cookies go?
Playing an electronic twenty questions game... the girls outsmarted it twice!

My brother Stormy and Kimberly's kids came over yesterday afternoon. My brother was working and Kimberly had a dentist appointment, so they came to play with us! While Ally finished her name, Gracie, Madison and I made cookies. Jett played with toys, deciding that its better to eat the cookies rather than help make them. :) After baking, we played in the sprinkler. I don't have a lot of pictures because I was busy playing too! It felt like 103, I wasn't about to sit on the sidelines! Stormy and Kimberly joined us later for dinner, along with the missionaries. We had a full house! Ally loved every minute of it and there was only fighting once and it involved cookies....

Summer Sun- somethings begun

Summer Sun- something's begun! Ally's love affair with the sprinkler. We set up a knew sprinkler yesterday evening and Ally didn't even hesitate (or wait for her swim suit) before she began to investigate the spraying water. Enjoy the video- we loved watching her.

Let me tell you a story about Ally

Ally loves her great grandmother, who we call Mamaw. Today she gathered 6 diapers, her teddy bear, blanket and pacifier in a pile in the hallway and declared "Go! Mamaw!"

When I told her it was too late in the afternoon to go see Mamaw. She got her play phone and proceeded to talk on it as if calling her Mamaw to tell her that I would not let her come!

So I got on the real phone and called Mamaw to tell her the funny story. With 6 diapers and her overnight stuff, she was planning a long stay!

Oh that girl....

And she had just seen her on Tuesday, so it's not like I was keeping them apart for long periods of time.

5 Things I Learned Today

1. It's more fun to play with her letters on the dishwasher than the fridge. They make better noise there.
2. She takes her coloring very seriously now. I am not allowed to touch the paper or color with her. Apparently she is a temperamental artist.

3. She learned the word "now". So whenever I am not doing something to her liking she says "Now, mama!" in the same tone that I use when I say "Do it now, Alyson!" Heaven help!

4. When she wakes up from her nap in the afternoon, she always lets me know by calling out- mama. Normally I would go in and get her right away. But she now likes to have about 10 minutes of alone time in her bed ( as she refuses to let me take her out of the bed). She spends the time playing with her teddy bear, telling him all her secrets I guess. I peeked in on her today while she was having her alone time and she was whispering to her teddy bear. He just "gets her".

5. She can eat her food out of kiddie bowls now without dumping everything out on her try. She's starting to eat more like a person than a baby. And my floor is staying cleaner. Thank goodness for that!!

Feelin' Cute

Ally was feeling cute on Sunday after I got her dressed for church. She wanted to do a photo shoot. I was running behind, so I told her I would take her picture later. She ran for the camera and insisted, saying "me! Mama- Me!!". So we were late to church by about 3 minutes because she just had to have her picture taken. I love the above picture, the rest are her posing silly. I'm calling these her official 18 months pictures.
This is her "I love my dress" pose.
This is the pose after I asked if she was excited to go to nursery. :)
This is her sign for "good job"- the Thumbs up. She's telling me "good job" because after this picture she was done with her photo shoot. And she ran to the door calling for Daddy. ( He was already at church due to early morning meetings)
