Good Things To Come
"Some blessings come soon, some come late and some don't come until Heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ- They come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come." Jeffery R. Holland

Pinkwood Derby
Our ward held its 1st Annual Pinkwood Derby. The girls were asked to build pinewood derby cars, like the Scouts do. The girls were so excited!!! Ally called it the "Pink race car party" So we dressed in Pink and got ready for a Girls Pinkwood Derby night. Look at Alyson's face in the picture, I know it's not the best picture, but she can barely contain her excitement.
Cheering on the other cars and girls. Like any good party- there was dinner involved.
Waiting for her car to race down the track.
She loved to run down the side of the track and follow her speeding car.
All the cars the girls built. There were 17 total.
Alyson's car- #7. It was made for her by Jonathan's aunt. I thought the activity was just for older girls and when they told me everyone could do a car, it was already race day, so Jonathan's aunt let Alyson use her car. She ended up winning 3rd place overall!!
Holding up her trophy.
Her pink certificate.
We had a lot of fun racing cars. I think we are going to keep up the tradition. Next year, Daddy gets to help her build the car. He's already talking about it.

A new BIKE!!
So Ally has wanted a bike all summer long. All she can talk about is how she needs a bike to ride at the park with the other kids. She would even sweet talk the boys at the park into letting her ride their bikes. And she's cute- so like any good boy- they let her.
So she was talking to my mom on the phone and the following conversation went down:
And of course- what happens? It rains all day long so she can't go to the park! That's okay- we rode the bike inside today. We love it! She is so spoiled. Thanks, Me-Maw and Da!
So she was talking to my mom on the phone and the following conversation went down:
Ally: Me-maw, I need a bike.
My mom: You do?
Ally: Yes, I need a bike to ride at the park. Please??
So.... guess who got a bike???
And of course- what happens? It rains all day long so she can't go to the park! That's okay- we rode the bike inside today. We love it! She is so spoiled. Thanks, Me-Maw and Da!

Penny can- aka 7th Wedding Anniversary
So for our 7th Wedding Anniversary, the theme is Copper. And yes... I know that technically pennies are not made from Copper anymore. But if I had me some copper I would be cashing it in for mo' money and not using it as an anniversary gift- just saying.
Anywho, so for our anniversary we are playing Penny CAAAANNN! Now, the game Penny Can is from the show Cougar Town- no I'm not saying I watch it and no I'm not saying you should, but when I was thinking of things to do for August 3rd- I thought copper- penny- games with pennies- Penny Can. So this video will let you all in on the awesomeness that is Penny CAAAANNN and regardless of your opinion of the show that spawned it- bet you walk away from this post thinking "Penny CAAAAANNN"
Penny CAAANNNN!!
2004 Pennies! 7 of them to be exact. I know- legendary!
