Good Things To Come

"Some blessings come soon, some come late and some don't come until Heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ- They come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come." Jeffery R. Holland

Your Dad

Dear Alyson,

I just wanted you to know that you have the most awesome dad ever! I was pretty sick on Monday and your daddy stayed home to take care of you because I had a high fever and couldn't. It turned into Daddy and Aly's day of fun. It was beautiful weather so you guys spend most of the day outside. You went to the store together, ran around the yard, mowed the grass, repaired a fence and had a picnic lunch. I don't have pictures of the event, but you should know that your daddy loves you very much and for the rest of the week, talked to me about how much fun he had with you that day. I can understand why you are a daddy's girl, especially when your daddy is the best dad in the world.

I just wanted you to know.

Love,
Mom

16 Months old

Aly always wants to sit on the "Jesus Table" and whenever I put her up there, usually so I can put on her shoes, she will hug and or give the statue a kiss. She is really good at recognizing Jesus in pictures. She has such a sweet spirit.
Alyson is 16 months old. She is so full of personality. She has the best expressions. She is super sweet and everyone is her friend. Her favorite thing to do is say "hi" to everyone she sees.
Aly had her best friend Lucy over for a play date. They played and had lunch and shared a cookie. They played nicely together and neither one cried, pushed or yelled at each other. We are so proud of you two for being friends!
Aly still loves books and enjoys reading them in front of the window in the sunshine.

Nana sent the cutest outfit for Alyson. She was so excited to wear it that she was dressed for church an hour early. I asked if I could take her picture and this was her pose.

Aly fell asleep in the wagon on the walk back to Memaw's house. She played and had so much fun at the park. Thanks, Memaw for playing with me!
Alyson loved the merry-go-round the best. She didn't want to get off, even when she was almost falling over from being so tired.

The day was so beautiful, that we went to the park with Memaw.

Aly thought she needed to have tools and work on projects too. So Memaw got out the toy hammer and screwdriver and Alyson went to work.

So that daddy could work on projects at the house, Alyson and I went to visit Memaw and Da (my mom and dad). Alyson loves books, and they are even more fun in Da's lap!

I wanna be a supermodel

She was so excited to wear one of her new dresses to church. Don't you love how she posed? She also thought she was quite the big girl, as I've been called to the primary presidency and as Jonathan left church during sacrament because he didn't feel well, she got to spend 2 hours in primary with me. She walked around to every single person and said hi to them. She danced along to the music during singing time and by the end of the church, ( because remember, its normally naptime) she was sprawled out in the middle of the primary room calling for her daddy. Let's just say, she will most likely enjoy nursery when the time finally comes for her to go there.

I thought this video was cute. We were waiting for dad to finish up a call with the elders, when she took the lesson from me and began FHE without us. By small and simple things, great thing shall come to pass.... too bad we didn't understand any of the words!

I didn't have my camera while at the store, but she was so funny. So let me just tell you.

We went to Kohls and I carried her in, setting her down right before we got to the kids section and letting her hold my hand and walk the rest of the way. Well, she's just chilling, walking with me- then she sees the first rack of little girl clothes and let's out a squeal of delight (seriously. she squealed and had a huge grin on her face) and rushes over to start shopping. She goes around to 3 different racks with spring dresses and I tell her to pick some out. So she stands there, like she's grown, and starts going through the racks, pulling out dresses, like she's 10 or something. So she picks out about 5 from three different racks and has a pile. Then, I kneel down and hold up the dresses and tell her to pick three. She does. And then we put the others back and walk to the register. How old is my daughter again? 15? No... just 15 months. You sure about that....

I'm bouncing off the walls again, Whoa oh!

She is finally feeling better. It was a rough week. She had trouble sleeping, which meant many sleepless nights. It was worse than when she first came home from the hospital, because she didn't nap during the day either. Any, the terrible, horrible miserable flu is over and she is back to normal. We have had gorgeous weather, so everyday this week we have gone out to play in the yard. First, we just walked around the yard and looked for birds, leaves and flowers. We planted winter grass, so the yard is still all nice and green and we have flowers.
These are the flowers she picked. I asked her if they were for me, and she said "No, Daddy". Then when daddy came home and she gave them to him, he said he wanted to give them to mommy and she said "No, Daddy". I take care of you all week for being sick and you give daddy the flowers????!?!? Just my luck. Daddy's girl all the way.

So while out in the yard, I thought to myself "Self, we need a ball to play with" So off to Wally world and 1 whole dollar later, we have a bouncing red ball that has entertained Alyson and her daddy.... for hours. Just a note about the above picture, I told her that she needed to stop playing and say prayers before we had lunch, I snapped this real quick. This is her folding her arms and eyes for prayers.
